After five hours of deliberation Wednesday, a Pottawatomie County jury has convicted 22-year-old McKaine Farr of distribution of a controlled substance causing death.

The conviction stems from a March 2023 incident at a Manhattan hotel involving Thomas Jackson DeLoach, of Manhattan, who died. This was Farr’s second conviction on the same charge. In December, he was convicted in the September 2021 death of Jayson Ebert, of Wamego. He’s currently serving more than 13 years on that conviction, following a January sentencing hearing.

Farr is scheduled to be sentenced on his newest conviction on April 18.

This is a developing story. For more, be sure to check out the Pottawatomie County Times newspaper.
