Cities and local governments are working to ensure no one has to be out in this cold for any length of time.
The City of St. George has coordinated with Lighthouse Baptist Church to open its building as a warming shelter Saturday, Sunday and Monday for anyone needing relief from the cold.
The church says the entrance to the building on the far north parking lot will be open Noon until 10 p.m. Saturday, 6 am to 10 p.m. Sunday and 8 am to 6 p.m. Monday.

Anyone in Wamego needing to report an issue can call City Hall during business hours or use the after hours non emergent line at 785-456-9553.
Junction City residents needing relief from the cold can visit the Fresh Start Emergency Shelter at 136 W. 3rd Street.
Provided by The Magdalene Project and St. Xavier’s, the shelter provides a warm place to sleep and three meals per day as well as shower and laundry facilities available.
City Manager Allen Dinkel says in the event of a weather emergency the city will open more shelters in the community.

Local government offices will be closed on Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday.
