Talks on a new MOU agreement between USD 383 and MATC continue to stall according to USD 383 superintendent Eric Reid.
Reid first reported on the disagreement at the board’s last meeting on Nov. 1 and reported at Wednesday’s meeting that the two sides are still far apart on an agreement.
USD 383 School Board President Karla Hagemeister says that while she hopes a deal can be done soon, the board may have to look at different alternatives if a deal with MATC isn’t agreed to.

Hagemeister did iterate that current students in the CTE programs at MATC will not be affected by this current disagreement.

Mr. Reid spoke about the agreement that was sent to him just shortly before the meeting by MATC.

Board members once again expressed their concern and confusion that a deal hadn’t been agreed upon as they did at the Nov. 1 meeting.

Board members also discussed the possibility of an alternative option if a new deal isn’t agreed to.
Board member Darell Edie floated the idea of possibly moving CTE courses down to the Lincoln Center if there is available space.

The MOU is apart of a string of agreements between the two parties that was first formed in 2015.
