This summer, it’s all about the late ’90s and early 2000s! The Summer of ’99 + Beyond Festival returns, now a two-day rock spectacle at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI, on July 18-19.
After a successful 2024 debut in San Bernardino, CA, demand was so high that Creed pushed the festival to two days and found a new Midwest home to give even more fans a chance to relive the era’s best rock anthems. Both Creed and Nickelback have a history with Alpine Valley—Creed first rocked the venue in 2000, while Nickelback made their debut there in 2007. This also marks the first time the two bands have shared a festival bill since 1999!

Legendary songwriter Russ Ballard has dropped a fresh video for his new version of “God Gave Rock N’ Roll To You”, the iconic track he originally wrote—a hit for both Argent and KISS.
Reflecting on the song, Ballard shared, “It reflected the optimism I felt at the time… It was a hit for Argent and later for KISS when it was featured in Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey.”
This release follows Ballard’s recent revamp of “New York Groove”, famously covered by Ace Frehley in 1978. The Back To The Beginning farewell concert just got even more legendary! Guns N’ Roses, Tool, and Rival Sons have reportedly been added to Ozzy Osbourne’s final hometown show in Birmingham, England, on July 5 at Villa Park.
This historic night will also feature a Black Sabbath reunion with Ozzy, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—marking a momentous return to where metal was born.
The lineup is stacked with rock royalty, including Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice In Chains, Lamb Of God, Anthrax, Mastodon, and a star-studded list of guest performers like Sammy Hagar, Wolfgang Van Halen, Jake E. Lee, Rudy Sarzo, Jonathan Davis (Korn), K.K. Downing (Judas Priest), David Ellefson (Megadeth), Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), and more.
Ozzy shared, “It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning… Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”
While he won’t perform a full Black Sabbath set, Ozzy confirmed on SiriusXM’s Ozzy Speaks that he’ll join in for select moments.
