Several individuals and pets were displaced following a Sunday night fire in Pottawatomie County.
15 firefighters responded to a fire call in the 5300 Block of Highway 99. Crews from Louisville Township Fire, City of Wamego Fire, Belvue Township Fire and Pottawatomie County Consolidated Fire District #1-St. George responded to the scene. A small electrical fire in the basement of the structure was quickly knocked down. KDOT and the City of Wamego road crews assisted with getting the fire crews to the location. Pottawatomie County EMS was on standby, but no injuries were reported.
The PT County Sheriff’s Office and City of Wamego Police assisted with taking four adults, one juvenile, and six pets to a local shelter.
The Red Cross is assisting the displaced persons.
