The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

Officers filed a report for sexual exploitation of a child in Manhattan on January 19, 2021, at approximately 8:38 a.m. Officers listed a 22-year-old male as the suspect when it was reported he attempted to obtain explicit photographs and favors from individuals under the age of 18. Due to the nature of this crime, no further information will be provided.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 100 block of Manhattan Town Center in Manhattan on January 19, 2021, at approximately 11:21 a.m. Officers listed Dillards as the victim when it was reported three unknown male suspects stole multiple clothing items. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,255.00. The items were recovered later near a doorway to the building. Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property and aggravated burglary in the 600 block of Highland Ridge Dr. in Manhattan on January 19, 2021, at approximately 5:47 p.m. Officers listed a 20-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered his residence damaging an exterior wall and stole a Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 handgun, a 20 gauge shotgun, a Roku television, an XBox One, and a safe. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,210.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
