The Riley County Police Department and emergency medical services responded Tuesday night to a vehicle vs pedestrian accident that happened near 4th and Moro St.

RCPD posted on Facebook around 6:45 p.m. announcing that 4th Street was closed for over an hour from Bluemont to Laramie due to the accident, and that at least one person was injured.

RCPD released no additional details including names or condition of those involved.

Last month News Radio KMAN released a story, based on RCPD traffic data, where it was revealed that the roundabout at Bluemont Ave and Fourth St has been the most dangerous intersection in Manhattan during recent months.

The area where the accident occurred is just feet away from the Bluemont roundabout, which is also the most dangerous for pedestrians.

8 accidents occurred at the roundabout during the 3rd quarter of 2024, which spanned July 1 to Sept. 30th.

Earlier on Tuesday, another accident involving a pedestrian was reported around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Casement and Allen.

No additional were released.
