The 47th annual Flint Hills Home Show was held at the Army National Guard in Manhattan on Saturday.
Brad Hartenstein is the executive officer for the Flint Hills Area Builders Association and spoke about the event’s purpose.

Over 95 local businesses were present at Saturday’s event.

Hartenstein said that the event usually sees high turnout and that the biggest turnout is typically on Sundays as many come visit after church services. He said well over 500 visited on the opening night of the event on Friday and that could see as many as 1500 on Sunday.
Hartenstein explained how the event has changed over the years and why they are now located at the Army National Guard building.

The event also provides scholarships for Kansas State and Manhattan Area Technical College students.
