Authorities are investigating a reported theft at Dillons after an unknown suspect scammed the business out of more than $16,000.

According to the RCPD, officers responded to the 100 block of Sarber Lane on Feb. 26 at approximately 8:16 a.m. Dillons was listed as the victim after reporting a fraudulent cash transaction resulting in a total loss of $16,348.58.

Police have not released details about the suspect or the method used in the scam. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers. Tips can remain anonymous, and individuals providing information may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
