The KC World Cup committee recently presented to the Kansas Senate Commerce Committee to request around $30 million in state money to provide for training facilities as players get ready to play compete in 2026 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
State Sen. Usha Reddi, who sits on the Commerce Committee spoke about the vast opportunities that the World Cup can provide the state of Kansas.

Reddi says she thinks this will be a good thing for the city of Manhattan and that she hopes for more public infrastructure money.

Reddi says teams will have an opportunity to choose where they wish to train. This includes potentially Buser Family Stadium in Manhattan, home of the Kansas State University soccer team.

Kansas City is one of 11 US cities to be a host city in the 2026 World Cup. Mexico and Canada are also host countries for the games.
