The K-State Gardens annual poinsettia and amaryllis sale will be held on November 16th and 28th, from noon – 5:30 pm in the Gardens Visitors’ Center, 1500 Denison Avenue. Free parking in the lot adjacent to The Gardens is available. The poinsettias (6 1/2″ pot) or amaryllis (6″ pot) are $12 each or 6 for $60. Centerpieces (10″) are $20 each. Cash or check only. The Manhattan Book Discussion Group and VIP (Visually Impaired Persons) Support Group will meet on Tuesday, November 20th at the Riley County Senior Center. The Book Group will meet at 1:00 pm. The title of this month’s book is “Crazy Rich Asians” by Kevin Kwan. The VIP meeting will follow from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. The guest speaker will be Mandy Smith from RCIL (Resource Center for Independent Living). Her organization provides services for Older Kansans who are Visually impaired or Blind. These include orientation & mobility training, marking items in your home such as washer and dryer, microwave and stove. The Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Fort Riley-Manhattan will participate in the annual Wreaths Across America program with a ceremony Saturday, December 15th at 11:00 am. Family, friends and the public are cordially invited to attend the ceremony. Please dress warm as the Committal Shelter is not heated and some attending will either be sitting or standing outside the Committal Shelter.
