Kansas State‘s successful recruiting weekend is only getting started, it appears.

On Monday, just days after visiting Kansas State for their game against TCU, 2024 linebacker Boone Morris announced his commitment to the Wildcats.

The announcement comes just hours after announcing his decision to decommit from UTSA, where he was committed since the beginning of July.

“A lot of prayer and thought led to my decision,” Morris told EMAW Online. “And in the end, God revealed to me the proper discernment to do what’s best for myself and my future.”

Morris is a three-star linebacker who stars for Mount Vernon (Tx.) High School. As of his commitment, he held 19 total offers, including fellow Power 5 program Vanderbilt and multiple Group of 5 schools.

This season, Morris has become a tackling machine.

Last week, he totaled 19 tackles and forced a fumble. Earlier this month, he surpassed 400 total tackles by gaining 19 tackles the week before.

Morris is the second defensive player to commit to Kansas State this week. On Sunday, Topeka-Seaman (Kans.) High School safety

flipped from Nebraska to Kansas State.

Kansas State has nine total commits in the 2024 class, with just three defensive players. Alongside Barta and Morris, three-star linebacker

is the only other defensive player committed in the class.
