WoodFest, hosted by Symphony in the Flint Hills, will return Sept. 28 to Camp Wood YMCA near Elmdale.
According to a press release, the family-friendly event is a day-long celebration of music, art and nature in the Flint Hills.
Throughout the day, attendees can participate in music workshops, horseback riding, archery and guided hikes. The event also will feature instrument building, painting and other activities for children. The day ends with a sunset concert featuring the WoodFest Symphonia, with award-winning soloists Eugene Friesen and Maeve Gilchrist.
Three ticket options are available. Each includes access to workshops, meals and the concert, which begins at 7 p.m.
The Big Bluestem pass is for up to eight people and costs $225. The Little Bluestem pass is for up to four people and costs $125. The individual pass costs $50.
“WoodFest is an excellent opportunity for families, music enthusiasts and nature lovers to experience the unique beauty and culture of the Flint Hills,” said Sandy Carlson, program manager for Symphony in the Flint Hills, in a written statement. “With activities and performances for all ages, this event promises a memorable day of exploration and creativity.”
