Amid exhaustive federal budget cuts, support for the humanities has become a dying art. Humanities Kansas board member Lisa Sisley and executive director Julie Mulvihill are working hard to reverse this.

Started in 1972, Humanities Kansas encourages Kansans to draw on history, literature and culture to create connections with one another. Supporting projects that enrich Kansan communities and strengthen democracy as a result, the organization joins others like it nationwide in its new effort to gather full funding.
