According to a statement made Wednesday by Pottawatomie County Sheriff Shane Jager, deputies and Louisville firefighters responded to a call around 7:05 p.m. on Friday in regards to an individual being struck by lightning in the 5600 block of Lewis Wilson Road in Wamego.
Upon arrival, officials found Jennifer Campbell administering CPR to her husband, 37-year-old Matthew Campbell, after he was reportedly struck by lightning while walking back from a pasture.
Jennifer was with Matthew at the time of the incident. She reported being knocked to the ground by the lightning strike but did not state she sustained any injuries.
Matthew was transported by Pottawatomie County EMS to a local hospital. At the time of Jager’s statement, his current condition was unknown.
