Crowds waved their American flags Monday morning along Poyntz Avenue in honor of those who have served in the military.
An honor guard led the annual Veterans Day Parade, followed by Boy Scout Troop 74 and the Fort Riley cavalry unit.
More than a thousand people and 62 organizations participated in the event, put on by the Flint Hills Veterans Coalition.
