It’s not lost on Jeff Mittie how rare a feat it is to have retained so many players in the in-and-out business of modern college sports.
As it heads into the 2024-25 season, Kansas State women’s basketball has a dizzying number of known commodities returning to its roster — be they All-Americans coming back for a seventh season, seniors who’ve been starting since they were freshmen, young players who already have earned significant on-court minutes or bench talent with a bevy of experience.
Sure, the Wildcats lost some players from last year — two to graduation and two to the transfer portal — but those four only accounted for 15% of the team’s points and 12% of its rebounds.
