County Clerk Rich Vargo stands between the locked ballot boxes and onlookers at the door to the vault, August 15, 2022

Another election in Riley County has passed without any voter fraud issues, an official said.

Riley County clerk Rich Vargo said the Nov. 5 general election didn’t bring up any suspicion of voter fraud, nor has any election since Vargo took over his role in 1997.

“Voter fraud has to be done intentionally by someone,” Vargo said. “Election security, that really starts with the poll workers, and we make sure to have equal representation of Republicans and Democrats at all the polling places just so we can give folks peace of mind that election security and integrity are our top priorities.”
