The USD 383 school board on Wednesday accepted a donation from a group of community members to install a video board at the Manhattan High football, soccer, and track and field stadium in CiCo Park.

The group is more than halfway done with fundraising, and the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation and the Jack Goldstein Foundation have reserved funds to ensure the project is properly funded without risk to the district.

The video board will come from Daktronics, with purchase and installation costs totaling $328,715. Mitch Watson, one of the community donors, said the video board will have the same technology used by K-State athletics and professional sports team like the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. He also said it can link to the stadium’s other scoreboard, installed in 2018.
