The federal government cut two grants for the Riley County Health Department related to the prevention and treatment of diseases, officials said Thursday.
Effective March 24, the federal government discontinued four grants for health departments across Kansas, two of which affect Riley County. All health departments in the state received notices March 26. The last day the funds could be spent was March 24.
The discontinued grants are the Immunization and Vaccine for Children grant, and the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Infectious Diseases grant.
