Two KDOT construction projects are set to begin in Pottawatomie County on Monday.
The first project will be a repair of the county bridge near Belvue at the Pottawatomie/Wabaunsee county line that is expected to take one year to complete. The bridge is located at Schoeman and Paxico Roads and spans the Kansas River and is located approximately 1.5 miles southeast of Belvue. A.M. Cohron and Sons Inc., an Iowa based contractor, will be heading the project. The project is expected to cost $11.2 million.
KDOT will also start a project on the Vermillion Creek bridge 3 miles northeast of Havensville on Armstrong Road. That project is expected to last until Apr. 2025. The project will be headed by Ebert Construction and will cost $670,000. No marked detour will be on either project and drivers will need to find alternate routes.
KDOT will be providing oversight on both projects.
