Sunset Zoo held its 15th annual Party for the Planet event on Saturday, ahead of Earth Day.
Marketing and Development Officer Melissa Kirkwood says the event is the zoo’s annual opportunity to share with the public its mission of conservation.

Saturday’s event saw community booths as well as all-day activities like a scavenger hunt, an animal enrichment event and a bounce house for kids, as well as face painting and entertainment. Conservation groups including K-State Master Gardeners were on hand for the celebration.

Earth Day officially is recognized yearly on April 22.
