Looking to win back-to-back state championships, Wamego has a commanding 23-stroke lead after its first round at 4A State in McPherson. The Red Raiders finished the round with at 3-over par. In 2nd place is Circle at 26 over. Spencer Hecht is tied for 2nd individually with a 1-under par first round. Right behind him is Regan Kueker in 4th place at even-par. Talon White sits tied for 5th at +1. Breckin Miller and Cash Foltz are tied for 10th at +3. Kaden Tyner finish +14 after round one.

Qualifying individually for Rock Creek, freshman Hudson Edelman is tied for 80th at +24.

Over at 6A State in Garden City, Manhattan is in 5th place at +17. Qualifying for round two Tuesday, but behind 1st place Olathe Northwest who finished round one -11 as a team. Jackson Powers leads Manhattan and is tied for 16th overall at 1-under. Tate Reid is tied for 24th at +3. Tied for 43rd is Gage Hull at +7. Right behind him is Owen Kandt at +8. Cade Cochran and Cooper Graham each finished 15-over.
