KANSAS CITY — The Kansas City Royals have added some much needed help to their bullpen.

On Saturday, Kansas City added Washington Nationals relief pitcher Hunter Harvey in a trade that sent minor league third baseman Cayden Wallace and the 39th overall pick in Sunday’s First Year Player Draft to D.C.

Harvey, 29 and a former first-round selection of the Baltimore Orioles, has made 43 appearances this season with Washington posting a 4.20 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched. He’s been with Washington since 2022.

The Royals sit currently 52-44 on the season and are 7 games back of division leading Cleveland in the AL Central in third place.
