Angel Roeser, candidate for Kansas House of Representatives, said Tuesday evening she didn’t intend to withhold information about her degree, even though she now acknowledges that she has not yet graduated from K-State.

That followed a report in The Mercury earlier that day that Roeser, a Republican running for the District 67 seat, did not have a degree, even though she claimed to be a K-State graduate. The Mercury obtained public records that showed she does not have a degree and is still a student. She did not respond to several attempts by The Mercury to contact her in advance of the publication of that story.

After the story was published, she issued a written statement: “I am a fall 2024 graduate. Like many students, my course load didn’t match up with course offerings. I was eligible to participate in the May graduation ceremony at K-State, however I chose not to walk. I am currently finishing two courses that were not offered prior to the graduation ceremony so that my degree may be conferred this fall.”

The full story can be found at The Mercury.
