Behind a balanced offensive attack and a dominant performance on the glass, the Lady Mustangs pulled away in the second half to defeat Wellington 66–48 in the Class 4A third-place game at the state tournament in Hutchinson.

The victory secured a state trophy for Rock Creek and capped a remarkable season for a team that does not have a single senior on the roster.
