It’s almost Labor Day weekend and for many, that means it’s time to head out on the water for some boating fun.

Riley County Game Warden Ben Jedlicka says even without alcohol present, being out on the water can be present stressors that impact your feelings and judgment and make you more accident prone.

With some stressors already present, Jedlicka encourages boaters to be even more conscious of how they feel once alcohol is brought into the equation.

He also advises to make sure any boat or vessel you are on comes equipped with all proper equipment.

Lifejackets are required on all boats, and if alcohol is present, the driver of the boat must remain under the legal blood/alcohol limit of .08.
