Emergency management director Russel Stukey told county commissioners on Thursday that volunteers work alongside county firefighters to handle structure fires and that Riley’s volunteer fire department give the town double the coverage.

“We’re always looking for volunteers in all the towns, in the county and in the city,” Stukey said. “Riley is unique where it’s the only town in the county where it’s all volunteer firefighters. As most of you know Riley has double coverage there.”
