Officers filed a report for aggravated assault and disorderly conduct at approximately 10:07 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2026 in the 800 block of 4th Street. Listed victims included a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old man when it was reported an unknown male suspect threw something at them from a truck and then brandished a firearm. Anyone with information, contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward up to $1,000.
Melissa Sue Carson, 39, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 25 near Delaware Street and Fort Riley Blvd. on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. This arrest stems from original charges that include five counts of criminal trespass and one count of criminal deprivation of a motor vehicle. Carson was issued a total bond of $10,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Andrew Coleman Jones, 47, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 4:03 p.m. on Aug. 25 in the 1700 block of Fair Lane on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. This arrest stems from an original charge of possession of a controlled substance. Jones was issued no bond remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
