Officers listed a 24-year old male of Manhattan and a 23-year-old female of Parsons, Kansas as the victim when it was reported their Ford passenger vehicle was stolen along with a Remington 12 gauge and a CZ 12 gauge shotgun by an unknown subject. Officers filed a report of a single-vehicle rollover accident on December 8, 2024, at approximately 12:47 PM in the 2500 block of Marlatt Ave.. Officers listed 17-year-old Malachi Kahssay, of Manhattan, as the driver. It was reported Kahssay was distracted and lost control of his vehicle resulting in the accident. Kahssay was transported by EMS to Via Christi for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Kahssay was cited for using a cellphone without hands-free.
Kenneth Scott, 64, of Manhattan, was arrested on December 9, 2024, at approximately 3:14 AM in the 2100 block of Patricia Place. Scott was arrested on the probable cause offenses of aggravated assault and criminal threat. Total bond was set at $10,000. Scott was confined at the time of this report.
