The Riley County Police Department is investigating five separate incidents of theft that occurred in the overnight hours of October 1st. Three were motor vehicle thefts, and the other two involved items being taken from inside vehicles.
A 2012 Chevy Silverado was reported stolen in the 1200 block of Kearney St, a Kawasaki ZX6R motorcycle was stolen in the 1000 block of Bertrand St, and a 2003 Yamaha T25 motorcycle was stolen in the 900 block of Clafin Rd. The total loss associated with these cases are $16,000, $8,000, and $4,000.
Two cars on Yuma, near 6th and 11th street, were broken into and laptops were stolen from backpacks inside the vehicles. The total loss associated with these cases are $1,300 and $2,500.
