Riley County Police are investigating a case of animal cruelty after a cat was shot by an arrow over the weekend in rural Riley County.

The report was filed Monday afternoon in the 6000 block of Tuttle Terrace. Police say staff from the K-State College of Veterinary Medicine reported to officers that the cat was brought in Saturday evening around 9 p.m. Veterinarians aided the feline who has made a recovery and is now housed in the animal shelter. Police have not identified a potential suspect.
