The Riley County Police Department substation in Aggieville is in need of more space. On Monday, RCPD director Brian Peete said the police department is considering relocating the substation on Moro Street to the new hotel at 12th and Laramie.
The hotel is still under construction and will be complete in October 2026. Peete said it will triple the amount of space, from 1,000 square feet to 3,000 square feet.
“Currently we have roughly about 1,000 square feet in the Aggieville area,” Peete said. “Because of the high amount of volume, especially with the high amount of incidences that occur, we’re sandwiched between two clubs and we can barely hear each other when things are going on.”
