The Pottawatomie County Commission approved the 2024 budget and exceeding the revenue neutral rate during their Monday meeting.
Despite a .779 mill levy decrease, the county will still see an additional $49,000 in ad valorem taxes following the assessed valuation increase of just over $22 million.
This year’s budget includes a nearly $1.5 million increase in expenditures with the inclusion of a 5% COLA and the addition of four new staffing positions.
Additionally, commissioners approved exceeding the revenue neutral rate for the general, tort liability, historical society, rural highway, regional library, Fire District #5 and fairview cemetery funds.
