Pottawatomie County Commissioners signed off on three resolutions involving tax incentives for a future auto dealership to be located south of Hwy 24 near Excel Rd. The new business, known as Flint Hills Motor Group LLC, will offer service and detailing in addition to auto sales. The incentives include a Community Improvement District (CID) incentive and an Industrial Revenue Bond (IRB) incentive.

The CID incentive will impose a three quarters sales tax over 20 years, which will be used by the dealership to cover the cost of marketing and updates to the dealership that are mandated by its corporate partners. The IRB incentive will essentially serve as a loan the dealer is making to itself to be used for paying for the costs of acquiring, improving, and equipping the project. Tyler Ellsworth, attorney with Kutak Rock, explained the resolutions to the commission.
