Local, state, and federal officials are celebrating the reopening of the Linear Trail and the Phase 1 completion of the $46 million Manhattan Levee Project.

On Wednesday morning, residents and politicians gathered at Hayes Drive and Casement to witness the official unveiling of the two projects.

Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran spoke at the ceremony, saying the projects mark an important step toward protecting $1.2 billion in critical infrastructure from flooding.
