Oklahoma State claimed both games of a Sunday doubleheader with No. 22 K-State at O’Brate Stadium, taking the middle game 7-0 before a 10-2 win in the series finale. The losses wrapped up a sweep for the Cowboys after a 4-3 loss on Friday.
“Frustrating day for our program,” said seventh-year head coach Pete Hughes said in a written statement. “We didn’t pitch, play defense, or hit like we were capable.”
The Wildcats, who moved to 20-11 overall and 8-4 in Big 12 play, were held to two runs on the day as the Cowboys (15-14, 4-6 Big 12) handed the Cats their first series loss of the season.
