The current Pottawatomie County Commission will meet for the final time on Monday as commissioners Pat Weixelman and Greg Riat will say goodbye to the county commission.
Weixelman was first elected to the county commission in 2008 and has been on the commission for 16 years. He decided to not run again this past November and will be replaced by Merl Page.
Riat was appointed to the county commission in 2019 after the resignation of Travis Altenhofen. He was then elected to full term in 2020 but was defeated in the primary in August by Bill Drew.
Set to join the new commission on Jan. 13 will be Gary Yenzer, who previously served on the commission from 2011 to 2015, who will represent the new 4th district and Terry Force, who will represent the 5th district.
