Because of K-State hosting Arizona a day early, the Friday night lights designated for high school play are also shifting forward as the Indians welcome Lawrence Free State into town on Thursday.

Head coach Joe Schartz describes having such a quick turnaround as a mental block first and foremost.

“The hardest thing to get through their head is (Monday) is Tuesday, and you know that Tuesday is Wednesday,” Schartz said. “You just have to force yourself — I even have to force myself — to push fast forward.”
