Behind a career night from Will Carpenter and a gritty late push, Manhattan High boys’ basketball edged Shawnee Heights 56–54 on Monday in a back-and-forth battle to extend its winning streak to five games heading into the winter break.
The 6-foot guard Carpenter finished with a career-high 27 points, knocking down six 3-pointers, including a late dagger that capped a strong closing stretch for the Indians. Sawyer Newton added 12, while Manhattan leaned on defensive stops and timely execution to pull out the win.
