Manhattan High boys’ basketball salvaged its McPherson Invitational experience with a much-needed 63-61 win over Hutchinson in the seventh-place matchup on Saturday.
“What a sweet win, we needed it so bad as a program,” head coach Benji George said. “I’m just miserable when we lose and I know our players are too. They heard some hard truths the last two days, and they responded today. I really liked our togetherness.”
The Indians (4-7) trailed by as many as 17 points in the first half but stormed back behind a plethora of offensive production. Manhattan shot 53.6% in the contest, including 10-21 from beyond the arc.
