EMPORIA — Manhattan High baseball never found its footing in the Class 6A state quarterfinals, falling 9-0 to Washburn Rural at Emporia State’s Trusler Sports Complex on Tuesday.
In their fifth state appearance in the past six years, the No. 4-seeded Indians were outhit 13-3 in the shutout loss. Manhattan finished the season with a 21-5 record.
