The Riley County Police Department is investigating a forgery case after a Manhattan man reported losing $3,000.
According to police, officers took the report around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at teh Dillons on Sarber Lane.
A 51-year-old man told investigators an unknown suspect altered a check by washing it and changing the information before cashing it.
Police estimate the loss at $3,000.
