
A Manhattan man was arrested twice Saturday following separate incidents involving a reported aggravated assault and an alleged protection order violation, according to the Riley County Police Department.
Officers first filed a report at approximately 1:20 p.m. May 23 in Manhattan for aggravated assault and criminal threat. A 19-year-old woman was listed as the victim, while a known 61-year-old man was identified as the suspect.
Robert Paul Veach, 61, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 2:14 p.m. on charges of aggravated assault and criminal threat. Veach was issued a total bond of $10,000.
After bonding out of jail, officers later filed a report at approximately 9:30 p.m. for violation of a protection order.
Veach was arrested again at approximately 9:41 p.m. on a charge of violation of a protection order. He was issued a total bond of $6,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
