Manhattan High School is cracking down on the use of personal electronic devices during school hours.
In the next school year, Manhattan High officials are implementing a zero-tolerance policy for devices. After the Blue Ribbon Task Force gathered input from the community, students and teachers at USD 383 schools, Manhattan High has drafted a new handbook policy for the upcoming academic year. The school’s principal presented the proposed policy to Manhattan-Ogden officials Wednesday.
“We’re going to protect a student’s right to have access to personal devices in their free time,” Michael Dorst, the principal of Manhattan High, said. “On their time before school, after school, passing period and lunch.”
