Manhattan High football continued its dominance over Topeka High on senior night at Bishop Stadium, rolling to a 50-0 win for its sixth straight win in the series — and ninth in the last 10 meetings.
Honoring 24 seniors, the Indians welcomed back several key veterans to the lineup. Kansas commit JJ Dunnigan, along with senior Nisbyc Johnson, reunited in the secondary for the first time since Week 2’s statement 47-7 win at Lawrence Free State.
“It’s great to have JJ and Nis back in the secondary,” head coach Joe Schartz said. “They’re vocal leaders back there — they get everything organized. Not only that, it allows us to put other kids back into their natural positions. When we had so many injuries, people were playing out of position, so now the defense is getting back to what it was earlier in the season.”
