The star-powered offense of Wichita Northwest proved too much for Manhattan High football on Friday night, as the No. 2 Grizzlies handed the No. 4 Indians a 40-13 defeat.

Manhattan (4-2) had won five straight in the series — including a pair of playoff victories over the past two seasons — but on Northwest’s homecoming, the Grizzlies (5-1) finally broke through against the reigning 6A state runner-up.

It marked Manhattan’s largest loss since a 56-0 playoff shutout against Derby in 2019.
