
The Riley County Police Department is investigating a telephone scam that cost two Manhattan residents nearly $3,000.
According to police, officers took the report around 7:10 p.m. Tuesday.
A 25-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man reported an unknown suspect convinced them to transfer money during a phone scam.
The victims reported losing approximately $2,800.
The investigation remains ongoing.
