Westwood Elementary student Grayson Silver recently caught a 42-inch catfish while fishing with his family at Homer’s Pond in Junction City.
“This fish was really cool. It was as long as me and I am actually getting an award for it, which means I am a professional fisherman. I really like to fish,” said Silver.
It is expected that Silver will receive a certificate in the mail soon after the Education and Public Affairs, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks office in Pratt reviews the application.
