The Little Apple celebrated its 35th annual Juneteenth holiday this long weekend, which was highlighted by a unity walk and performance by Grammy and Academy-award winning singer Regina Belle.

The walk started at Long’s park and participants marched down Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Yuma St, and finished at the Douglass Center.

City Commissioner Peter Oppelt spoke on the importance of supporting the Juneteenth holiday…

The Juneteenth celebrations also took place in City Park on Friday and Saturday night where the crowed heard a performance from Academy award winning singer Regina Belle, and saw an outdoor screening of “42” the Jackie Robinson film.
